MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) - The EU does not want to consider Minsk as a convenient venue for talks, editor-in-chief of the Russian magazine Natsionalnaya Oborona, Russian journalist and military expert Igor Korotchenko said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The very fact of negotiations in Belarus is a step raising the country's status. It is an opportunity to present Minsk as an effective negotiator and mediator, and, of course, Belarus' involvement in global processes of the world order. It is obvious that Minsk is not regarded as a convenient negotiating platform either by the EU or the United States,” said Igor Korotchenko. “Therefore, I think that due to these circumstances it turned out that the further course of the negotiation process has moved to Turkey.”
The expert added: “In any case, we are grateful to Belarus for the working conditions that have been provided, for the entire logistics and transport infrastructure. We appreciate Belarus' friendly participation and support.”
