MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) – The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is attractive for opportunities that it offers, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich said on the air of the STV TV channel, BelTA informs.
“Uzbekistan is eying the Eurasian Economic Union. Work with India and Egypt is intensifying. This suggests that the Eurasian Economic Union is really attractive because of its opportunities and that countries would like to see a more convenient system of cooperation,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
Speaking at the panel “EAEU: New Integration Quality” that took place at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that the Eurasian Economic Union proved to be a success. He illustrated his point by the following example: “Last year, the economies of our member states expanded by 4.6%. This is slightly higher than the minimum stipulated by the 2025 Strategy. Our mutual trade has noticeably grown, mutual deliveries increased by almost a third. This suggests that the member states have something to trade with each other and there is interest in this,” he said.
