MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – By demonstrating its capability and pacifism the Collective Security Treaty Organization will attract other countries. Belarusian Defense Minister, Major-General Viktor Khrenin made the statement on the air of the TV channel Belarus One, BelTA has learned.
Viktor Khrenin said: “I categorically disagree with those who compare the Collective Security Treaty Organization to NATO. These organizations are incomparable. Established 73 years ago, NATO has yet to become a defensive organization. We see it. It is truly an aggressive organization and we've seen many times in how many military conflicts NATO countries have participated. But the Collective Security Treaty Organization was established to ensure the security of its members.”
The Belarusian defense minister stressed that by demonstrating its capability and pacifism the Collective Security Treaty Organization will attract more members. “I think it will be dozens of countries instead of six countries in five years. Those, who appreciate peace and stability instead of aggressiveness and changes of the political system of other countries,” he added.
