MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – Belarus is at the civilizational watershed in the geopolitical re-division of the world by the West, Nikolai Shchekin, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Head of the Sociology of Public Administration Department at the Sociology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, told BelTA.
“The Summit for Democracy under the auspices of the United States has sent a serious signal to all independent states of the world. It heralded the start of a new Cold War. Preparations are underway to ideologically justify a geopolitical offensive on the free world. The summit, in fact, will adopt an ideological ultimatum to all those who do not want to live by the standards and fascist principles of the collective West. By the way, the very fact that the Summit for Democracy was held behind closed doors speaks of a conspiracy of the Anglo-Saxons and their colonies against dissent. The lack of understanding of the structure of the summit itself reveals the latest convulsive attempts by the United States to preserve the unipolar world and once again change it to accommodate its needs. American democracy is a constant struggle to turn free and independent countries into colonies and a source of free resources,” Nikolai Shchekin believes.
According to him, the summit also aims to replace all international structures. Moreover, the summit can also be viewed as a ‘democratic onslaught' on the world in collaboration with the Bucharest Nine. It should be regarded as a new ideological, military and political method of running global processes in a sectoral and regional format through the corrupt state structures of many countries. The majority of 110 participants of the summit are tools in the hands of the Anglo-Saxons to manipulate and influence the rest of the world. In this regard, it would be quite logical that the Belarus-Russia Union State, Slavic unity will be declared the main target. Belarus is at the civilizational watershed in the geopolitical re-division of the world by the West. Therefore, in the near future, one should expect more sophisticated provocations at the border from Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine with the use of diplomatic pressure and simultaneous involvement of some military units. All this will take place against the background of information hysteria. For example, Ukraine's provocation of 4 December near the Novaya Rudnya checkpoint using a Mi-8 military helicopter clearly demonstrated one of the scenarios for such attacks.
Nikolai Shchekin noted that in the interview with TRT, Aleksandr Lukashenko explained the Western mechanism of destabilizing society on the example of Belarus. He also opined on the reasons for the pressure on our country on the part of the United States. “According to the president, there were 10 attempts to commit terrorist acts in the territory of Belarus this year. This fact confirms the president's thesis that they will not leave us alone. The construction of a fence by Poland and the deployment of two divisions near our borders, as well as the introduction of the fifth round of sanctions reveal the systemic and comprehensive efforts of the collective West to achieve its goal - to change the government in Belarus and establish its own colonial order. In this regard, preparations for the referendum will become a real stress test for our society and the state. In the current situation, the strengthening of the sovereignty of Belarus and the Union State is becoming a more pressing issue than we could have imagined,” the analyst added.
