Mutual support in international arena described as important area of Belarus-China cooperation  

MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – Mutual support in the international arena is a very important areas of cooperation between Belarus and China, Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko said at a meeting with a Chinese delegation led by Deputy Head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee Chen Zhou in Minsk on 22 April, BelTA has learned. 

"A very important area of our cooperation is mutual support in the international arena. The peace-loving foreign policy of Belarus, openness and readiness for political dialogue with all countries are fully consistent with the global goal put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping to build a community with a shared future for mankind," Igor Sergeyenko said. 

The speaker noted that Belarus and China oppose the use of force in international affairs and emphasize the need for cooperation of all countries in solving modern problems. "Belarus fully supports the one China principle and provides consistent support on the issues of Xinjiang, Tibet and Taiwan. China, in turn, supports the efforts of Belarus to maintain political stability and economic development, and opposes outside interference in the internal affairs of Belarus," he stressed.

According to Igor Sergeyenko, the current geopolitical context requires coordination of efforts and mutual support in international organizations: "Our goal is to form a fair multipolar world that provides indivisible security and prosperity for all countries."

The chairman of the House of Representatives recalled that Belarus is expected to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization at the summit in Astana in July this year.
