MP points out Belarus-Russia Union State economic benefits in current situation

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – At present the Union State of Belarus and Russia gives an opportunity to promptly resolve economic problems. Chairman of the International Affairs Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Andrei Savinykh made the statement at a roundtable session hosted by BelTA ahead of the Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia.

Andrei Savinykh said: “When the Union State of Belarus and Russia was being established, we had no contradictions and conflicts practically ever. On the contrary, we came up with compromises and set out to achieve goals while complementing each other. It is necessary to get closer, move on while presenting the Union State of Belarus and Russia as a nucleus of the emerging macroregion. All the bearing components of such a state formation are taking shape here: military, foreign, scientific, infrastructural, and industrial policies.”

Andrei Savinykh drew attention to the regionalization of formation of a multipolar world. It is interesting from the industrial policy's perspective. “We now have to create a system to distribute labor within the framework of an individual region and it is starting to take shape,” he remarked.

Andrei Savinykh said he believes the Union State of Belarus and Russia gives an opportunity to promptly resolve economic problems at present. “Mobilization economy should in essence plug the holes that emerged over the course of at least 30 years of our sovereign existence. The Union State of Belarus and Russia is the most adequate tool for handling this global task, which is right and overdue. Because its long-term development and security goals are prioritized over short-term commercialization,” he stressed. “The Union State of Belarus and Russia gives us an opportunity to break away from the old system of relations concerning global trade, technologies, and labor distribution in time to create our own, self-sufficient, logically built system with a long-term potential for growth.”
