MINSK, 7 July (BelTA) – The peoples of Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine want peace and cooperation both with Belarus and Russia. They do not need a confrontation, BelTA learned from a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party Oleg Gaidukevich.
The MP said: “The Ukrainian minister of foreign affairs has invited Belarus into the Lublin triangle. It is what he calls a new prospective union of Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine. The minister does it when people are beaten in the center of Kiev for coming to the Belarusian embassy with our state flags. They were beaten there in front of everybody. When our state flag in Latvia and Lithuania is removed and thrown to the ground, thus offending the country and the nation. When domestic political affairs are being interfered in. When sanctions are declared in violation of all kinds of international norms. Where is the limit of insolence and disrespect?”
In his words, Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine are united only by the fervent anti-Russian agenda and politics.
Oleg Gaidukevich continued: “They live with it while fighting the imaginary Russian threat and begging for resources and money for this fight. No, friends. Thanks for the invitation. You need a weak Russia while we need a strong one. The union with Russia makes our statehood and sovereignty stronger. We will not be a staging area for the fight against Russia. Admit it: you've never been interested in our elections, sovereignty, or democracy. You need only one thing: to change Belarus' geopolitical vector by turning it around by 360 degrees. While we think about statehood and sovereignty. We don't want the Belarus president to receive calls like Kiev and Vilnius do and to be told who should be appointed prosecutor general or a minister. We want to decide our own fate on our own and we will. You should think about the people! Peoples of Poland, Lithuania, and Ukraine want peace and cooperation both with Belarus and Russia. This confrontation is not needed. But you don't hear them or you are not allowed to hear. Then who really has sovereignty? The answer is obvious: Belarus. And it will be so.”
