MP: Blatant economic and political pressure on Belarus continues unabated

MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – Blatant economic and political pressure on Belarus continues unabated, BelTA learned from Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko.

The MP said: “Unfortunately, blatant economic and political pressure on Belarus remains in place. In these conditions our main task is to ensure effective counteraction of the sanction pressure. It is necessary to support the fledgling economic growth primarily by increasing labor productivity, by preserving traditional target markets, and by expanding the presence of Belarusian manufacturers in remote countries. It is also of crucial importance to engage the potential of interparliamentary diplomacy for the sake of counteracting the aggressive policy of the collective West and for protecting national interests.”

The head of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament underlined that time requires all the bodies of power to take concerted and balanced decisions in order to protect the sovereignty and independence of Belarus.

“Work on amending the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus is of special importance in this regard. The Constitutional Commission with assistance of members of the parliament has done a lot of work to summarize proposals submitted by citizens, public organizations, and political parties. Individual provisions of the draft Constitution are being polished now. After that the document will be submitted for consideration of the head of state. I would like to once again ask all the MPs, who work as part of the Constitutional Commission, to do this work as responsibly as possible,” the MP added.
