MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – The status of the agreements reached at the level of heads of state and parliaments was reviewed during a web-based meeting between the working group on cooperation with the Parliament of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam of the National Assembly of Belarus and Vietnamese parliamentarians on 12 November, BelTA has learned.
The parties also discussed the plans for inter-parliamentary interaction for 2025, including exchange of visits, facilitating the entry into force of the visa waiver agreement, developing interregional cooperation.
"While discussing the development of interaction between our parliaments, we have agreed with our Vietnamese colleagues to hold a number of joint events that relate to memorializing of prominent figures of Vietnam and Belarus, preserving historical memory, friendship and mutual assistance between our peoples that have existed since the Soviet times," Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives Oleg Dyachenko noted. "Nowadays, this topic is very relevant, since Belarus and Vietnam are building up long-term strategic economic, political and humanitarian partnership. It is very important for us to facilitate this work at the inter-parliamentary level," he said.
