MP: Belarus, UAE maintain constructive cooperation

MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) - Belarus and the UAE maintain constructive steady cooperation, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives of the Belarusian National Assembly Andrei Savinykh told reporters following a meeting between Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Belarus Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Almusharrekh on 1 November, BelTA has learned.

"First of all, I would like to emphasize that the interaction between our countries has been developing extremely constructively, on the basis of mutual understanding and mutual respect. There are many projects where we complement each other. Our partners are interested in Belarus' best practices in agriculture, agroscience, mechanical engineering. We, in turn, are interested in the financial instruments that they can offer," Andrei Savinykh said.

Basically, we are guided by the principles of generally accepted international law, the MP noted. "We respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our states. This is an excellent basis for constructive and progressive interaction. The main thing in our relations is trust and stabilization of relations, their predictability, primarily in order to increase transparency, security and mutual understanding in our region," he added.

The parties plan to discuss the Belarusian-Emirati relations, including the ties between the legislative bodies of the two countries, ways of bolstering trade and economic cooperation, mutual support in international organizations.
