More frequent NATO flights along Belarusian border registered

MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) – The intensity of combat and reconnaissance aviation flights of NATO member states along Belarus' state border is steadily rising, BelTA learned from Chief of the Air Defense Missile Troops, Chief of the Air Defense Missile Troops Office of the Air Force and Air Defense Command of Belarus' Armed Forces, Colonel Sergei Frolov.

The officer said: “At present our electronic intelligence and radar intelligence equipment sees a constant increase in the intensity of flights of reconnaissance and combat aviation of NATO member states along the state border of the Republic of Belarus, including in Ukraine's air space. The total number of flights has virtually doubled recently, including the number of recon flights. I should note that the number of U.S. Air Force units has increased by 1.5 times.”

According to Sergei Frolov, reconnaissance drones are actively used. The minimal distance of the flights from the Belarusian border stands at 15-20km. These facts confirm the buildup of military activity along Belarusian borders and testify to further escalation of the situation around Belarus, he said.
