MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – On 29 October Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Saeed Khatibzadeh, Deputy Minister and President of the Institute for Political and International Studies at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. Saeed Khatibzadeh is taking part in the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, BelTA has learned.
The officials exchanged views on the current state of Belarus-Iran cooperation. They noted the mutual commitment to expanding bilateral ties and highlighted the need to further intensify political, trade, and economic contacts.
Both parties emphasized the constructive nature of their interaction on international platforms and expressed a shared interest in facilitating exchanges between their foreign policy think tanks.
Saeed Khatibzadeh underscored the importance of dialogue forums, such as the conference “Eurasian Security: Reality and Prospects in a Transforming World”, in the context of current geopolitical turbulence. The diplomats also noted a convergence in the positions of Minsk and Tehran on key aspects of the multilateral Eurasian agenda.
