MINSK, 17 February (BelTA) – Belarus is at the very epicenter of a hybrid information war, Belarus' Information Minister Vladimir Pertsov said, BelTA has learned.
“Today Belarus is at the very epicenter of a hybrid information war. Information security is becoming the most sensitive issue,” Vladimir Pertsov said.
In his words, journalists are at the forefront of this information war. “In the run-up to the referendum this confrontation has increased, since money was allocated for this. This is evidenced from the promotion of destructive content and lies on all digital platforms,” the minister said.
The Board of the Information Ministry held a meeting on 17 February to review the work of mass media in 2021 and to set the tasks for 2022. The meeting was held in a mixed format. The offline meeting took place in the Press House in Minsk, while representatives of the regions joined the discussion by videoconference.
