Military and political situation in CSTO area of responsibility reviewed in Almaty 

 MOSCOW, 6 June (BelTA) - A meeting of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 6 June, BelTA learned from the CSTO press service. 
 
CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov made a report on the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility and measures to neutralize challenges and threats to the security of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member states at the meeting.

“The participants of the meeting held a detailed discussion of the military and political situation in the area of responsibility of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and measures to improve the activities and interaction in countering challenges and threats to the CSTO member states,” the press service noted. 
 
Special consideration was given to the draft CSTO special interstate program to reinforce the Tajik-Afghan border. The draft document was approved by the members of the CSTO Committee of Secretaries of State Councils. It will be submitted to the CSTO Collective Security Council for consideration.
