MOSCOW, 16 December (BelTA) – On the sidelines of the Belarus-Africa Forum for diplomatic missions of African and Middle Eastern countries accredited in Moscow, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Sergei Lukashevich commented on the situation regarding Belarusian potash supplies, including to Africa, BelTA reports.
“The supply of Belarusian potash fertilizers to global markets has, for obvious reasons, become an especially prominent issue in recent times. Belarus is firmly positioned among the world’s top three producers of potash fertilizers. The supply constraints we currently face are well understood, yet so are the quiet, steady achievements that continue to ensure potash delivery to countries where these fertilizers are most needed,” Sergei Lukashevich remarked.
“Shipments of potash fertilizers to Africa are determined by continental demand (potash is not universally needed) and by each nation’s capacity to buy this product. Ultimately, this is a matter of logistics and mutual economic feasibility for the purchasing countries and for us as the supplier,” Sergei Lukashevich noted.
