MFA: No Belarusians among victims in Israel-Iran conflict

MINSK, 14 (BelTA) - According to current information, there are no Belarusian citizens among those affected by the recent events in Iran and Israel, BelTA  This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

“The diplomatic missions of the Republic of Belarus in these countries continue to operate. Emergency telephone numbers are available for prompt communication: Iran - +98 21 2275 2229, +98 912 215 2935, Israel - +972 3 522 20 43,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

"A list of Belarusian citizens who have expressed a desire to leave the country is being compiled in Iran. The necessary coordination work is underway, including in cooperation with Russian collegues. Information about citizens wishing to be evacuated can also be sent to the email address ir.consul@mfa.gov.by. Please provide full personal details and attach color copies of passports,” the ministry said.

In Israel, with its airspace closed, it is still possible to leave the country via the land border with Egypt and Jordan. “Given that the nearest embassy of the Republic of Belarus is in Egypt, we advise Belarusian citizens wishing to leave the country to depart from Israel via the Taba checkpoint (Eilat),” the ministry said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly recommends that Belarusian citizens in Iran and Israel remain calm, observe personal safety measures, and strictly follow the instructions and recommendations of local authorities and law enforcement agencies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to closely monitor the situation.
