Makei, Lavrov discuss integration, anti-sanction efforts, upcoming meetings

MOSCOW, 5 May (BelTA) – The foreign ministers of Belarus and Russia, Vladimir Makei and Sergei Lavrov, had a telephone conversation to discuss the Belarusian-Russian integration, measures to counter the sanctions and the schedule of meetings at the highest and high level, BelTA learned from the the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The parties discussed the current issues of bilateral cooperation and the Union State building, including the implementation of integration decisions of the supreme bodies of the Union State, and also the schedule of upcoming meetings at the highest and high levels," the ministry said. “The ministers exchanged assessments of the current international and regional problems, discussed the course of the special military operation in Ukraine.”

"The parties agreed to step up coordination of work in international organizations, including joint efforts to counteract the actions of Western countries to undermine the interests of Belarus and Russia," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.
