Makei hands over Lukashenko's response message to UN secretary-general

MINSK, 26 September (BelTA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei has met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres in New York, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Vladimir Makei voiced support for the UN efforts to overcome the global food security crisis. He noted that Belarus can play a role in addressing this issue. The foreign minister conveyed a response message from Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to the UN secretary-general, confirming Belarus' support for António Guterres' initiative on humanitarian assistance in the context of food insecurity,” the press service informed.

Belarus and the UN leadership share the view that it is necessary to take urgent action to secure world peace and stability.
