MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) - Since April Belarus has been offering consultations on illegal migration but the EU has rejected them, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media on 2 September, BelTA has learned.
“Since April Belarus has been offering consultations on illegal migration but the EU has categorically rejected them,” Vladimir Makei said.
He stressed that the EU countries have refused to fulfill their international obligations in migration matters. "We absolutely see this and, of course, we will raise this issue at all international venues," Vladimir Makei said.
"But we are ready for dialogue. We believe that it is only through a calm, mutually respectful dialogue, without making artificial claims, threats and blackmail, that a solution can be found to any issue, including the one related to the current situation on the border," the minister added.
