Lukashenko: Russia committed to negotiations

BOBRUISK, 17 June (BelTA) – Russia is committed to the negotiation process regarding the settlement in Ukraine, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he talked to the staff of the Belshina company in Bobruisk, BelTA has learned.

"We don't know how the situation will develop. What I know for sure is that Russia is committed to the negotiation process," the head of state said.

"Why did the Ukrainians refuse to talk to the Russians? This dialogue started here, in Belarus, I was involved in it, and I did my best to persuade them to come here. They have withdrawn. Why? The Americans said: no, there will be no negotiations. The English and the Americans call the shots in Ukraine and do it mostly through Poles. The Poles, on their part, try to take advantage of every opportunity, be servile to the master, and gain something from it," the Belarusian leader said.
