
MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) - The relations between China and Belarus demonstrate positive development dynamics, Vice Premier of the State Council of China Liu Guozhong said at a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 22 May, BelTA learned.
First of all, the distinguished guest thanked the Belarusian head of state for the opportunity to meet with him and conveyed to him the friendly greetings and best wishes from China President Xi Jinping.
“In recent years, China-Belarus relations have demonstrated very positive development dynamics and reached an unprecedentedly high level of all-weather all-round strategic partnership,” Liu Guozhong emphasized. “This has become possible, of course, primarily due to the strategic leadership of the heads of state. It is also an excellent result of the continuous efforts to strengthen political mutual trust, to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthen bilateral interaction in the international arena."
According to him, Belarus can rightfully be called an unfailing friend of China and the Chinese people. He noted that this was his first visit to Belarus, but even before the trip he was aware of its development, economic advances, improvement of people's welfare, growth of professionalism and human potential of the state. Separately, he took note that Belarusians have a warm regard for the Chinese people, which he was pleasantly impressed by.

It was aimed at putting into practice the important agreements reached at the highest level. According to him, as a result of the joint work, the parties signed a number of documents and reached "important agreements and outlined further specific areas of bilateral practical cooperation.” Liu Guozhong lauded the professionalism and responsible approach to the work of the Belarusian colleagues, which impressed the Chinese side very much.
As it has been reported, on 21 May Minsk played host to the sixth meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental committee for cooperation with the participation of Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov and Liu Guozhong. A number of documents were signed following the meeting. These include a memorandum of understanding on strengthening investment cooperation in the digital economy, a protocol of the commission of the Belarusian State Committee on Science and Technology and the Chinese Science and Technology Ministry on defining flagship projects for 2025-2026.The protocol of the intergovernmental committee meeting formalized the intention to declare 2026-2027 thematic years of Belarus-China industrial cooperation.
