Li Qiang: Belarus, China are deepening political trust, building up business cooperation

MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) – Belarus and China are deepening political mutual trust and building up business cooperation, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang said at a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 22 August, BelTA has learned.

According to Li Qiang, in recent years, under the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries, relations between Belarus and China have been developing steadily and have reached the level of all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership. Bilateral cooperation is at an unprecedentedly high level, Li Qiang stressed.

"Political mutual trust is constantly growing. So is business cooperation," he added. In July 2024, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Xi Jinping met in Astana, where they developed new plans to deepen cooperation between the two countries. "This time, during my visit, I am ready, together with my Belarusian colleagues, to fully implement the agreements of the two countries at the highest level and further build up our mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of our countries and peoples," the distinguished foreign guest assured.

Li Qiang made a number of proposals to strengthen cooperation. "We must maintain political mutual trust at a high level," he stressed. “Over the 32 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China-Belarus cooperation, has always demonstrated vitality and energy regardless of the external situation. The most important reason for this is a high level of mutual trust. Mr. President, you, as the most beloved politician of the Belarusian people, have been friendly to China for a long time." It was noted that Aleksandr Lukashenko visited China many times, met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and the leaders of the two countries held a strategic exchange of views, set new guidelines for the sustainable development of Chinese-Belarusian relations. "We are pleased to note that at all levels, in all fields, we timely compare notes and exchange views on issues related to the fundamental interests of the two countries and important concerns," Li Qiang said.
