MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - During a working visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Evgeny Shestakov met with Vice President of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Sounthone Xayachack, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, including through friendship groups. Considerable attention was paid to ways of strengthening the legal framework.
The parties noted the importance of developing parliamentary diplomacy in expanding practical cooperation at the level of regions and business, holding cultural and humanitarian events in Belarus and Laos.
