
MOSCOW, 10 June (BelTA) - Russia appreciates Belarus’ assistance in organizing contacts with Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following the talks with his Belarusian counterpart Maksim Ryzhenkov in Moscow, BelTA learned.
“We are grateful to our Belarusian friends for their support and understanding of all aspects related to the causes and course of the special military operation. For understanding our clear approaches to the peaceful settlement and for the readiness to provide mediation services at any time and provide Belarusian territory for contacts, exchanges and, in general, for assistance in resolving humanitarian issues.
During the talks, the ministers discussed ways of further strengthening the strategic partnership and alliance between the two countries. “We concur that it is important to provide consistent diplomatic support to both the political dialogue at the highest level and intergovernmental, interparliamentary, interregional, interdepartmental cooperation,” the Russian top diplomat said.
The foreign ministers also look into the interaction with third countries and cooperation in international organizations.
