MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) - European politicians are trying to build security without the Russian Federation and Belarus, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a press conference on European security, TASS reports.

"We do not need such security," Sergey Lavrov stressed, adding that Europe has completely outsourced its entire security to the United States.

According to the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, cooperation on European security is unlikely to resume anytime soon but Russia is ready to listen to the West's proposals, though he specified that security cooperation with Western countries will now be possible “on the fundamentally new principles."

NATO has returned to the conceptual priorities of the Cold War, Sergey Lavrov said. In recent years NATO's military exercises have been held more and more often and closer to the borders of Russia. He explained that such exercises are aimed at containing the Russian Federation, although Western politicians are trying to "gloss over" their anti-Russia nature.

The Russian foreign minister stated that the actions of the North Atlantic Alliance are creating an explosive situation in the Asia-Pacific region. In response, Russia and China began to strengthen military cooperation and conduct joint exercises.
