Lavrov: CIS countries reaffirm solidarity with Russia in the face of threat of terrorism 

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - The CIS countries reaffirmed their solidarity with Russia in the face of threat of terrorism , Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters after a meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Minsk, BelTA has learned. 

The Russian foreign minister thanked his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Aleinik for the hospitality and excellent organization of the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council and also lauded the work of the CIS Executive Committee headed by Secretary General Sergei Lebedev and the high-quality preparation of documents and agenda. 

As for the CIS, Sergey Lavrov recalled the priorities announced by Russia fpr its current chairmanship in the CIS. The main one is to further the integration in all areas: economy, security, law and order, cultural and humanitarian dimensions. 

According to him, the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Minsk provided an opportunity to exchange views on issues of the international and regional agenda. Much attention was paid to cooperation in security in the CIS and more broadly on the Eurasian continent, including the joint fight against terrorism and other threats and challenges. "In this context, we considered certain aspects of cooperation, including in the field of migration. During their speeches, all our colleagues reaffirmed their solidarity with Russia, with its people in the face of the threat of terrorism, including in connection with the disgusting terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall," Sergei Lavrov said.
