MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) - Kyrgyzstan fully supports the common aspirations for the further development of the CIS, Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov said at the online meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council on 15 October, BelTA has learned.

Sadyr Japarov extended greetings on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the CIS and emphasized that the organization has come a long way in its development and defined the basic principles of mutual relations. “This is a good platform to compare notes and work out common approaches. Cooperation should produce common results,” the president of Kyrgyzstan said.

Over 30 years, the organization has helped maintain and develop a common economic, cultural, humanitarian and informational space. “This was huge support in the formation of new sovereign states,” the president of Kyrgyzstan said.

He drew attention to the further strengthening of the CIS position in the international arena and ensuring its dynamic development. “Kyrgyzstan supports its commitment to all international obligations specified in the fundamental documents of the CIS, in particular, in the peaceful resolution of regional problems and strengthening of integration processes within the CIS,” he said.

Sadyr Japarov emphasized the need to continue active cooperation to protect the external borders of the CIS in order to confront modern challenges and threats to security.
