MOSCOW, 26 May (BelTA) – The Kremlin sees no intention in the West to get to the bottom of the Ryanair plane emergency landing in Minsk, spokesman for the Russian president Dmitry Peskov told the media on 26 May, BelTA has learned.
"So far, we have not even heard any statements regarding the European states' desire to get to the bottom of this; so far, they have been firing from the hip," Dmitry Peskov said. According to him, the incident itself and the Belarusian authorities' statements that followed "must be an object of some attempt to comprehend and understand what has happened."
Dmitry Peskov also noted that the Kremlin sees no reason not to trust Belarus' explanations about its actions in the situation with the Ryanair incident. "As far as we understand, Belarus did not force the plane to land at its own initiative, it was following the appropriate rules in case of receiving a threat. And here we do not see any grounds not to trust the Belarusian side," Dmitry Peskov stressed.
