Kochanova meets with Azerbaijan PM

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova met with Prime Minister Ali Asadov of Azerbaijan on 20 February, BelTA learned from the press service of Belarus’ upper house of parliament.

The parties praised a high level of Azerbaijani-Belarusian interstate ties, and emphasized the dynamic development of mutually beneficial partnership in various sectors thanks to close contacts and joint efforts of the presidents of the two countries.

The parties placed special focus on inter-parliamentary cooperation, praising the level of constructive dialogue between the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan and Belarus both in bilateral and multilateral formats. The parties also emphasized the importance of the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly in Baku. The decision to grant the Belarusian parliament with the observer status in the organization was praised as well.

The parties discussed the prospects of strengthening the Azerbaijani-Belarusian partnership in areas of mutual interest.

The Belarusian parliamentary delegation led by Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, is paying an official visit to Azerbaijan. The key events of the official visit include the participation in the meeting of the Executive Council of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) and the 15th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.
