Kochanova: Belarus and Russia will always be together

MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) - There is no doubt that Belarus and Russia will always stand together, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova said as she met with Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Parliament Vyacheslav Volodin in Moscow on 24 November, BelTA has learned.

"Our countries enjoy good relations. We share common historical roots. Today it is brotherhood, friendship, strategic cooperation," Natalya Kochanova said.

According to her, in modern conditions, the interaction between Belarus and Russia is of even greater importance. "We see how important the cooperation between our countries is today, because the pressure that our peoples, our countries are facing is unprecedented. This has never happened before in history, and, of course, we must stand united. For 30 years, we have been building good, neighborly relations. Over the years we have implemented a great deal of projects, contracts and agreements. Our public diplomacy has been very effective. Friendship ties between regions have been gaining steam; more sister-city agreements are signed. Every year we hold the Forum of Regions. Next year we will meet for the tenth forum in Ufa. Over the years we have established a lot of new contacts that have benefited our peoples," the speaker emphasized.

Belarus and Russia have had good dynamics in development, Natalya Kochanova stated. "We can manufacture anything. All prerequisites are in place for this. We should not depend on anyone. There is no doubt that Belarus and Russia will always stand together," the head of the Council of the Republic noted.
