MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – During a press conference held at the Central Election Commission’s information center on 26 January Chairman of Belarus’ CEC Igor Karpenko made a few comments about the statement made by High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas about the election in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
In response to a question from a reporter Igor Karpenko said: “But I don’t think she is the legitimate head of the European Union’s diplomatic service. This is what I believe. It is democratic. She has her beliefs. I have mine. I believe she is an illegitimate head of the diplomatic service of the European Union. We were not invited to her election. We did not observe, did not see, don’t even know how this procedure took place. Write down that we don’t recognize her as legitimate.”
