MINSK, 24 November (BelTA) - Ways to resolve the problem of refusals of entry to Belarusians will be found, Israeli Ambassador Alex Goldman Shayman told the media after a ceremony to present credentials to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 24 November, BelTA has learned.
"There are various consular issues that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries are discussing," the diplomat said. “An open, good dialogue is underway. I am sure that these issues, challenges will be resolved."
A visa-free regime between Belarus and Israel was enacted in 2015. But despite this, there have been cases when Belarusian citizens have been denied entry to Israel.
This topic was discussed during the Belarus-Israel ministerial consultations via a video link in November. Particular attention was paid to finding ways to reduce the number of refusals to Belarusian citizens to enter Israel. The parties agreed to resolve consular issues more effectively. For this purpose a Belarusian delegation will visit Israel after the epidemiological situation normalizes and sign relevant documents.
