MINSK, 20 July (BelTA) – An Iranian parliamentary delegation led by head of the Belarus-Iran parliamentary cooperation group at the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Ali Asghar Bagherzadeh will be on a visit to Belarus on 20-24 July at the invitation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
A joint meeting of the parliamentary cooperation groups of the Belarusian and Iranian parliaments will be held during the visit.
The Iranian delegation will meet with Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Vadim Ipatov and the leadership of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and the Standing Commission on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media of the House of Representatives. The Iranian delegation will visit a number of Belarusian mechanical engineering enterprises, Belarusian State Medical University, the National Library, and the Khatyn Memorial Complex.
The parties are expected to discuss inter-parliamentary contacts, cooperation in trade, economy, investment, culture and humanitarian matters. They will also exchange expertise and knowledge in legislative activity and share their views on international issues.
The Belarus-Iran parliamentary cooperation group was set up at the National Assembly of Belarus of the eighth convocation in May 2024. The head of the group is Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs Sergei Rachkov.
