MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Hungary wants peace and tranquility to return to Europe. Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto made the statement after a session of the Belarusian-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
In his words, the Hungarian side is unwilling to get involved in the war and supports the intention to reestablish peace in the region.
At the same time Peter Szijjarto stated that many European politicians maintain a different point of view and are in favor of the conflict’s continuation. The official stated that dialogue and common sense have never been more important than they are in Europe today.
“Unlike, for instance, the chairperson of the European Commission we don’t want Europe to get involved in the war,” he stressed. “We are very concerned about steps being taken in the interests of escalation. We, Hungarians don’t want anyone to involve us in the war.”
