MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – An official parliamentary delegation of Belarus led by Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova has arrived in the People's Republic of China. Upon landing, the Belarusian speaker met with Chairman of the China-Belarus High-Level Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee Huang Ming, BelTA has learned.
“I hope you will enjoy your visit. We have taken care of every detail while arranging it in close coordination with the Belarusian Embassy,” Huang Ming noted.
“We appreciate such a warm welcome and the cooperation program that you have proposed. We are on board with all the proposals,” emphasized Natalya Kochanova. The parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus includes chairs of standing commissions of the Council of the Republic, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Vadim Ipatov, the healthcare minister and the chair of Bellegprom Concern.
The China-Belarus High-Level Interparliamentary Cooperation Committee was established in accordance with the Cooperation Agreement between the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China. During the visit, the committee will hold its first meeting. Its goals are to deepen and strengthen relations between the two states, take stock of cooperation between the legislative bodies, and put forward proposals and recommendations for promoting inter-parliamentary cooperation in various fields.
The program of the visit is packed with events. On 28 May the parliamentary delegation of Belarus will meet with President of the All-China Women's Federation, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China of the 20th convocation, and state councilor Shen Yiqin at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
Founded in March 1949, the All-China Women's Federation is China’s largest women’s public association. Chinese women are an important force in building China-style socialism. At the initial stage of socialism, the women's federation is to unite and educate women, implement the party policy, and play an active role in creating socialist tangible and intangible assets.
