House of Representatives back into session on 20 September

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) - The ninth session of the House of Representatives will begin its work on 20 September, Chairman of the Standing Committee on State Construction, Local Self-Government and Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives Valentin Semenyako told reporters following a meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives, BelTA has learned.

"In accordance with the rules of procedure of the House of Representatives, the draft agenda of the regular session is submitted to the meeting of the Council of the House of Representatives. The session begins its work on 20 September, and the tentative agenda includes 20 items. These are bills relating to changes in tax legislation, laws on labor relations. A number of bills will be up for the second reading. These are the bills on accounting and reporting, blood donation, state youth policy. A large set of items relate to international relations. A number of agreements will be ratified, primarily related to cooperation within the framework of the EAEU (on transport and other areas),” Valentin Semenyako said.

The agenda of the session is always fluid, the MP noted. "The standing commissions continue to work on bills, and once they are ready, they are submitted for consideration," he stressed. “The House of Representatives works in accordance with the law-making plan. The progress in the work is constantly monitored by the leadership of the standing commissions. Bills are being prepared and submitted for consideration in the Oval Hall in accordance with this plan.”
