Head of EU Delegation promises to improve relations with Belarus

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – I will work to improve relations with Belarus, new Head of the European Union's Delegation to Belarus Dirk Schuebel told the media ahead of the ceremony to present credentials to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 12 September, BelTA has learned.

“My goal is to make our relations even better,” the head of the EU Delegation said.

Dirk Schuebel said that he is happy with his appointment to Belarus. He knows the region very well as he headed the EU delegation to Moldova, the European External Action Service Eastern Partnership Bilateral Division and the EEAS Russia Division.

“I am happy to be here, in Belarus. Our cooperation has been very good for the past four to five years. I think that our relations have been developing in a good way. We are working closely and I hope we will make more progress within the next four to five years,” the head of the EU Delegation said.
