Foreign ministers of Belarus, Serbia reaffirm commitment to closer cooperation

MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik has had a telephone conversation with his Serbian counterpart Marko Đurić, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The parties discussed a number of topical issues of traditionally constructive bilateral relations and reaffirmed their readiness to strengthen cooperation and continue political and economic dialogue. Contacts for the current year were also discussed,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed.

The top diplomats touched upon mutual support at multilateral platforms, primarily in the UN.

The parties pointed to the similarity of approaches and willingness to keep coordinating efforts in order to resolve key issues on the international agenda.

They noted that the two countries are determined to challenge attempts to misrepresent certain historical events in the Balkans.
