FM: Belarusian People’s Congress demonstrates true democracy

MINSK, 6 March (BelTA) - Belarus is gearing up for the Belarusian People's Congress, thereby demonstrating to foreign countries the true people's power, rather than the Western pseudo-democratic models, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said at the ministerial collegium meeting on 6 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to the minister, it is extremely important to provide true information about Belarus and the processes taking place in the country through the election campaigns that determine the country's course for the future.

“International support of these events is the most important task of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he emphasized. “We have already shown the world our fair and open parliamentary elections. You have all heard the assessments of the CIS, CSTO and SCO missions, as well as those of individual observers, including from Western Europe.”

Work is now underway to prepare for the Belarusian People's Congress. “We are actively demonstrating to foreign countries our true democracy, not those Western pseudo-democratic models. Thus, we are preparing for the next year,” the minister said.

He is confident that conditions in the current year will not be easier than in 2023. “The past period helped us create a serious basis for moving forward in all areas of our diplomatic work, both politically and economically. The current period, declared the Year of Quality in our country, sets the tone for quality in everything: in the organization of events, in the implementation of agreements, in coordination between agencies, in the preparation of documents, in all work in general. This applies to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, embassies, and industry specialists, with whom we work in close cooperation,” Sergei Aleinik said.
