MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Uzbekistan should make joint efforts to implement the bilateral agreements at the highest level, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik said as he met with his Uzbekistan’s counterpart Bakhtiyor Saidov in Minsk on 11 April, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Aleinik emphasized that he was very happy to welcome his Uzbek counterpart in Minsk. He mentioned good weather at the start of the visit. “I am sure that such a sunny mood defines the relations we are building,” the minister said.

“It is of especial importance that it comes after the historic visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Uzbekistan - a visit that gave a new impetus to our cooperation. The parties signed a large package of documents, a roadmap of cooperation, which we are now actively working on and should implement by joint efforts,” the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs said.
