MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - Attempts to split the diaspora abroad are unacceptable for Belarus, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said a meeting of the Advisory Council for Belarusians Abroad at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk on 19 November, BelTA has learned.
Such meetings in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have become traditional. However, as Vladimir Makei noted, a number of circumstances and events gave a special meaning to the meeting. According to him, they include the challenges that Belarus faced after the presidential election last August: “Political and economic pressure on Belarus and sanctions against the state.”

“Unfortunately, we can see the efforts of individual figures to split the Belarusian diaspora, set the Belarusians abroad against the state, against each other. This approach is unacceptable to us,” the minister stressed.
