
MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov is discussing a wide range of bilateral cooperation topics during his visit to Jakarta, Indonesia on 5-6 August, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
Maksim Ryzhenkov's visit to Indonesia marks the first official trip by a Belarusian MFA official since the opening of Belarus’ Embassy in Jakarta in 2012. On his first day, the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs held talks with Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono in a warm and friendly atmosphere, covering the bilateral and multilateral agenda.
The parties agreed to elevate the level of the trade-economic commission, reflecting the growing scope and diversity of mutual trade and business interests. Additionally, the parties outlined plans to intensify cooperation in humanitarian affairs, agriculture, cultural exchange, science and technology, and the training programs for Indonesian students at Belarusian universities. Among other matters, the parties also touched on the schedule of reciprocal visits for the second half of 2025, including highest-level exchanges.
Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov also met with Speaker of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin who hailed the high level of bilateral political dialogue. The Speaker expressed confidence that cooperation with Belarus in areas of mutual interest would continue to grow. An agreement was reached to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation.

The parties focused on trade and economic cooperation, and examined the status of the agreements reached during the Indonesian president's official visit to Belarus in July 2025.
