EAEU prime ministers to meet in Yerevan on 20-21 October

MOSCOW, 11 October (BelTA) - A meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is due to take place in Yerevan on 20-21 October, official representative of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina told a briefing for the press on 11 October, BelTA has learned.

“The heads of government are set to discuss the sources and mechanisms for financing industrial cooperation projects within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU0, issues to improve the mechanisms of applying special protective, anti-dumping and countervailing measures in the EAEU, remove obstacles in the internal market of the Union, and develop an integrated information system of the Union,” Iya Malkina said.

At the meeting, the EEC is expected to inform the Intergovernmental Council on the preparation of international treaties on the formation of common markets for gas, oil and petroleum products, the implementation of the main areas of industrial cooperation in the EAEU, the functioning of the Russian industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

“The Intergovernmental Council will also consider the state of mutual trade of the EAEU countries, joint import substitution projects implemented by the EAEU states, the first package of measures within the framework of the climate agenda, issues related to the distribution of import customs duties between the budgets of the EAEU states,” the EEC representative said.

“In order to develop electronic trade in warehouse certificates for agricultural products in the Union, plans are in place to sign an agreement on the rules of issue (issuance), circulation and redemption of such certificates within the EAEU at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Council,” Iya Malkina added.
