MOSCOW, 11 January (BelTA) – State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev talked to reporters about the draft agenda of the forthcoming session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.
Dmitry Mezentsev reminded that a draft ordinance of the Supreme State Council on the main areas of implementation of the Union State Foundation Treaty through 2026 was adopted at a session of the Union State Council of Ministers in November 2023. “The document is of fundamental importance: it builds up on what has been accomplished in the course of realizing 28 Union State programs,” the state secretary stressed. The draft ordinance will be forwarded for consideration of the Supreme State Council.
The official went on saying: “Within the framework of the forthcoming session of the Supreme State Council we will present proposals on realizing provisions of the Union State Foundation Treaty to the heads of state. We will present proposals, which are totally concrete and have been verified and reconciled by the parties, on realizing the strategy on the common scientific and technological space of the Union State. We will present proposals on improving the transport infrastructure within the framework of unified approaches to enhancing the throughput capacity of Russian and Belarusian railways. We will present a number of proposals ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Union State Foundation Treaty, which we will mark this year. And certainly we will present an action plan on celebrating the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders before the heads of state and members of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.”
Dmitry Mezentsev clarified that there are a total of 16 items on the draft agenda of the session. “It will be an event to contribute to the advancement of relations within the framework of the Union State of Belarus and Russia,” he said.
