MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – The Donetsk People's Republic (DNR) and the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) plan to sign the document on the withdrawal of weapons with the caliber under 100mm and mine throwers with the caliber under 120mm on 30 September, representative of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic Vladislav Deinego told media following the meeting of the trilateral contact group in Minsk on 29 September, BelTA informs.
“The withdrawal of weapons will kick off along the contact line in the Lugansk People's Republic. After this the rest of weapons will be taken away from both the LNR and DNR. The withdrawal of weapons will last for 41 days,” Vladislav Deinego said.
The weapons withdrawal will be monitored, according to him, by a joint center to control and coordinate ceasefire and stabilization of the contact line. The center will work in close cooperation with the OSCE.
In turn, representative of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin noted that the signing of the document by the trilateral contact group was the most anticipated event in the recent months. “We have finally reached consensus today,” he said.
Denis Pushilin added that the working group on political affairs had also made some progress. “In small steps but we are moving forward,” the special representative noted.
