MINSK, 11 January (BelTA) - The CSTO is an effective tool, and the recent developments in Kazakhstan confirmed it, military analyst Aleksandr Tikhansky said in an interview with STV channel, BelTA has learned.
“The CSTO has a consensus, any decision is taken by consensus. As a military analyst, I can say that some decisions were made within three or four months, while here it took them literally overnight. This showed that the CSTO is an effective tool, it exists and, moreover, it is an optimal and working one,” said Aleksandr Tikhansky.
According to political scientist Nikolai Shchekin, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Head of the Sociology of Public Administration Department at the Sociology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, “now it is clear that someone abroad, over the ocean, expected that someone, not Tokayev, would ask for help from NATO, but it did not work out that way”. “The CSTO did everything in an effective way,” he said.
