MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – The CSTO draws a line in the sand for the West, CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.
“Membership in the organization cannot protect from economic pressure, sanctions. Likewise, let's say, some NATO members are also subject to sanctions by other Western countries. At the same time, in my opinion, the CSTO defines a red line that cannot be crossed. This way our organization acts as a deterrent,” Stanislav Zas said.
The secretary general stressed that there are certain informational, political, economic boundaries in this confrontation and they cannot be crossed. “In fact, we are talking about military threats or, say, threats to the very existence of states,” he added.
