CSTO Permanent Council discusses Armenia-Azerbaijan border crisis in emergency session

MOSCOW, 13 September (BelTA) – An emergency session of the Permanent Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has been held upon the initiative of the Armenian side. Top officials of the CSTO Secretariat and Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel-General Anatoly Sidorov took part in it, BelTA has learned.

Armenia's plenipotentiary representative Viktor Biyagov informed those present about the development of the situation in several areas near the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. He mentioned the address made by Armenia Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to members of the CSTO Collective Security Council in this regard.

Members of the council expressed extreme concern about the evolving situation. The possibility of using Collective Security Treaty Organization procedures for resolving the situation was discussed.
