MOSCOW, 22 January (BelTA) – The Permanent Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) approved drafts of several important political statements, CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zainetdinov told BelTA.

“The Permanent Council has finalized the draft statements of the CSTO member states on prohibiting development and production of new types of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and new WMD systems and on ensuring stability worldwide,” Vladimir Zainetdinov said. “The documents will be forwarded to UN ambassadors of the CSTO member states for revision and adoption,” he added.

The meeting of the Permanent Council was held online and was chaired by Tajikistan's Permanent Representative Hasan Sultonov.
