MOSCOW, 8 November (BelTA) – A meeting of the CSTO Military Committee will be held via video link on 10 November, Press Secretary of the CSTO Joint Staff Vladislav Shchegrikovich told BelTA.
“The committee is set to discuss challenges and threats to military security in the CSTO collective security regions and measures to counter them, plans to build the CSTO peacekeeping capacity and participation in UN peacekeeping activities, management of international flights of state (military) aviation of the CSTO member states, and a number of other topical issues,” the spokesman said.
The event will be chaired by Chairman of the CSTO Military Committee, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces - First Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation General of the Army Valery Gerasimov. It will also be attended by the chiefs of the general staffs of the armed forces of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Head of the CSTO Joint Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, the CSTO Deputy Secretary General Takhir Khairulloyev.
